Tekwill Visionary Club: Blockchain for Humanity

We have two distinguished guests at our next Visionary Club event taking place on the 23rd of May, Mariana Dahan and Mark Ginzburg.

This edition of Visionary Club will be focusing on the blockchain technology and how it can be implemented in areas you wouldn’t think possible. Mariana Dahan will talk about the use of blockchain for humanitarian purposes, for identity management, and fighting human trafficking. Mark Ginzburg will talk more broadly about cryptocurrencies, about Blockchain for financial transactions, and more specifically, in real estate deals.

Participation fee is 500 lei. All proceeds go to charity!

  • 50% will be donated to the TwentyTu campaign which aims at providing over 80000 students and pupils with modern education and educational resources for free, to prepare them for the inevitable 4th Industrial Revolution.
  • The other 50% will be donated to CCF Moldova, the official representative of the Hope and Homes for Children foundation.CCF Moldova’s mission is to transform the child protection system in Moldova by creating a loving and caring environment for children who are trapped in orphanages.

Both guests have an extensive expertise in the blockchain technology implementation and are known as experts in their fields.

Mariana Dahan is a Top 100 Influencer in Identity in 2018 according to global annual rankings (oneworldidentity.com), next to names like Mark Zuckerberg and Edward Snowden. She is the founder and CEO of the World Identity Network (WIN) — an initiative launched on Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island last year. Dahan is striving to bring together world’s brightest minds and leverage the potential of blockchain technology to solve some of humanity’s toughest challenges, such as the trafficking of human beings. To that end, WIN has partnered with several United Nations agencies to organize the “Blockchain for Humanity” Global Challenge, which results in a series of forward-looking technologies solutions and approaches, which may be relevant to Moldova.

Previously, Mariana Dahan led the Identification for Development (ID4D) agenda of the World Bank – a global program that she has initiated and which is now reaching $1 billion in lending and grants to developing countries. Dahan is also a founding member of the Global Blockchain Business Council launched in 2017 at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Mark Ginzburg is the CEO and founder of MTN Property Holdings and Ukrainian Investment Holding, located in Kiev, Ukraine. He is a Blockchain technology evangelist and also the first person to sell real estate to a renown Silicon Valley Venture Capitalist in exchange for bitcoins, using the full blockchain cycle and smart-contracts. As an entrepreneur, Ginzburg has focused on launching tech-related startups in both Ukraine and the USA, focusing on companies who are able to innovatively apply semantic web and blockchain technologies to existing products and services.
